Fashion Product Development & Sourcing Manager is critical in bridging creative design with strategic sourcing, supporting the development of innovative fashion products while ensuring efficient procurement processes.
Job Description
- Product Development & Design Support
Source fabrics, trims, and components aligned with tech packs and brand direction (guidance provided by HQ).
Conduct market research and trend analysis to inspire seasonal collections.
Create mood boards, sketches, textile prints/placement graphics and select materials for design proposals.
Collaborate with pattern makers and sample rooms to develop prototypes.
Conduct fittings, revise samples, and finalize detailed specifications.
Attend trade shows and industry events to stay updated on trends and innovations.
- Sales and Business Development Support
Attend meetings in Shanghai offices and support HQ Sales team on meeting recaps and follow ups.
Visit buyer’s offices to review design presentations on behalf of HQ Sales team.
- Sourcing & Procurement
Liaise with suppliers and manufacturers for costing, pricing, and sample development.
Evaluate suppliers based on MOQs, lead times, and production capabilities.
Negotiate pricing, payment terms, and contracts to ensure cost-effectiveness.
Maintain accurate records of sample requests, submissions, and evaluations.
Develop and implement sourcing strategies to meet production and quality goals.
Monitor supplier performance and manage key relationships to ensure timely delivery and compliance.
- Cross-Functional Coordination
Work closely with internal teams to forecast supply needs and align sourcing with design timelines.
Requirements
- Strong communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and Creative Cloud (Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator) applications.
- Creative mindset with a strong sense of aesthetics, color, texture, and silhouette.
- In-depth knowledge of fabrics, textiles, and garment construction techniques.
- Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong understanding of fashion trends, market demands, and consumer preferences.
- Good command of both Chinese and English.
- Experience in supplier evaluation and contract negotiation is a plus.
