The employer is a leading footwear manufacturer, the Development Manager is responsible for:
1. Overseeing the design, prototyping, and development of footwear products.
2. Ensuring that all product development aligns with customer requirements and manufacturing capabilities.
3. Leading the team in achieving quality, cost, and timeline objectives, serving as a key bridge between product design and production.
Job Description
1. Product Development
- Manage the entire development process from receiving the tech pack to production.
- Collaborate with customers, suppliers (material suppliers, mold shops, etc.), and internal teams to create functional, high-quality footwear prototypes.
- Translate customer requirements into viable product designs.
- Ensure technical specifications and patterns are accurate and production-ready.
2. Team Leadership
- Lead and mentor a team of developers, pattern makers, and technicians.
- Foster effective communication across departments, including production and quality control.
- Provide training to enhance team skills and keep them updated on industry advancements.
3. Quality Assurance, Material, and Vendor Management
- Ensure samples meet quality standards and customer expectations.
- Regularly review and improve the development process, identifying and resolving technical issues during the development phase.
- Source and evaluate raw materials and components to ensure quality and cost-efficiency.
- Collaborate with suppliers to secure timely delivery of materials.
- Optimize material usage for better cost and quality management.
4. Project and Timeline Management
- Plan and manage development schedules to meet production deadlines.
- Monitor the progress of multiple projects and ensure timely delivery.
- Identify and mitigate risks to avoid project delays.
Requirements
Qualifications and Experience:
1. 10 years and experience in footwear development, with at least 2 years in a managerial role.
2. Strong technical knowledge of footwear manufacturing processes, patterns, and materials.
3. Stay updated on industry trends, emerging technologies, and customer preferences.
4. Proficiency in CAD tools and other relevant design software.
Skills and Competencies:

- Excellent communication skills with solid command of both English and Chinese.
- Strong organizational and project management capabilities.
- Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
