Job Description
- Customer Support & Technical Interface; act as the technical liaison between customers and factories, supporting all chemical development and application need.
- Chemical Material Application & Technical Development; possess solid knowledge of footwear sole chemical materials and raw material properties, with hands-on experience in RB, IP, PU, EVA, PHYLON, and coating formulations and processes.
- Deeply understand material physical reactions and process parameters; adjust material compositions and optimize formulations according to different shoe model requirements.
- Demonstrate expertise in upper material chemical applications such as hot melt adhesives, foams, TPU heat cutting, screen printing inks, TPU/plastic injection, and lamination processes, and understand their production characteristics.
- Be familiar with adhesive and solvent applications and performance properties, selecting appropriate options for different material bonding needs.
- Understand tensile properties and testing methods to ensure structural strength and durability that meet brand and customer quality standards.
- Process Support & On-site Implementation; outsole assembly and molding processes; define proper adhesive and treatment methods based on material characteristics to ensure consistent bonding strength and product quality.
- Support testing, troubleshooting, and technical evaluation during the introduction of new formulations or chemicals, providing solutions and process optimization recommendations.
- Quality & Regulatory Compliance; understand brand testing standards and chemical requirements to ensure all developed and introduced chemicals meet brand specifications.
- Possess experience in RSL (Restricted Substances List) management and implementation to ensure compliance with environmental, safety, and regulatory standards.
- Cross-functional Collaboration & Information Integration; work closely with cross-functional teams to communicate and adjust technical aspects related to adhesion, structural design, and process feasibility.
- Monitor chemical material applications in outsole factories and support technical communication and on-site assistance during new material or formulation introductions.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or above in Chemical Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience in chemical engineering within the footwear industry.
- Good command of both English and Chinese.
- Strong cross-functional communication and coordination skills, with the ability to work effectively in a multinational environment.
