Company and Objectives
The Senior Development Merchandiser will be responsible for handling merchandising process from costing, sample development, order placement to production follow-up and final shipment. This role requires close coordination with buyers and internal teams to ensure timely delivery and cost efficiency.
Job Description
- Order Management & Buyer Coordination:
- Communicate with buyers to understand order specifications, pricing, and delivery requirements.
- Coordinate buyer sample approvals, including fabric, trims, strike-offs, and lab dips.
- Costing & Product Development:
- Assist in the development of new styles by working closely with the design, production, and sourcing teams.
- Prepare cost sheets, ensuring competitive pricing while maintaining quality standards.
- Source fabrics, trims, and accessories while negotiating pricing and lead times with suppliers.
- Production Coordination:
- Collaborate with the production team to ensure smooth workflow and on-time production.
- Monitor production progress, identify potential delays, and take proactive measures to resolve issues.
- Sample & Approval Process:
- Arrange and track sample development, ensuring timely submission to buyers.
- Follow up on buyer feedback and approvals for pre-production (PP) samples and bulk production.
- Maintain accurate records of sample approvals, fabric consumption, and other technical details.
Requirements
- 6+ years of merchandising experience in the garment manufacturing industry managing end-to-end merchandising process including costing.
- Strong negotiation, time management, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in Chinese and immediate in English.
- Solid knowledge in fabric, trims, garment construction, and production.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
